Beyond static avatars, recent advancements in machine learning and generative AI technologies have made it possible to produce synthetic self-similar media for the purposes of wellbeing, learning, and skill development.

Our study reveals that engaging with an ideal-self perspective generally increases positive affect and enhances key behavioral drivers such as resilience, confidence, motivation, and commitment across all conditions. While Emotional Self-Voice (ESV) did not consistently outperform other conditions that only involved mental imagination or text-based interventions, it demonstrated unique benefits, particularly in scenarios involving future habit formation.

OpenAI Announces AI Action Plan 👏

OpenAI has submitted its suggestions for the U.S. government’s AI Action Plan, a strategy report on America’s AI industry being conducted by the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

The proposals, derived from OpenAI’s Economic Blueprint released in January, incorporate AI in sectors including national security, infrastructure and energy. The suggestions detail ways in which the U.S. can maintain dominance in the AI industry, and highlight the perceived dangers of China’s rapid development and deployment of the tech.

Suggestions from the company primarily stress the importance of “freedom-focused” policies, opening up access to AI development technologies and protecting the rights of content creators to ensure the industry can progress unimpeded by regulatory constraints.

The action plan is intended to bolster America’s policies in the global AI landscape, it is expected to be submitted to the president by July.
